<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developer and an image forming method used in an electrostatic recording equipment using an electrophotographic developing system, e.g. a copying machine or a printer, in particular, to provide a magnetic toner excellent in image characteristics such as image density, resolution and gradation, having good transfer efficiency and not causing untransfer and an image forming method using the magnetic toner. SOLUTION: The magnetic toner is used for developing an electrostatic latent image, by an electrophotographic system, formed on a photoreceptor containing oxy-titanium phthalocyanine having the highest diffraction peak at 27.3 deg. Bragg angle (2θ±0.2 deg.) in an X-ray diffraction spectrum with CuKαrays. The magnetic toner contains a magnetic material which satisfies at least the conditions 0.1-0.5μm average particle diameter X and (σ/X)×100<=40 (whereσis the standard deviation of number distribution).</p> |
