PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grease composition which can simultaneously improve the acoustic properties and fretting wear resistance of a ball bearing, and a rolling bearing lubricated with the grease composition. SOLUTION: A thickening agent comprising a mixture of a urea compound and a lithium soap is incorporated into a grease composition comprising mainly a base oil and a thickening agent. The content of the urea compound in the thickening agent is preferably 20-80 wt.%. The urea compound suitably used comprises a diurea compound having terminal alkyl or cyclohexyl groups, particularly a diurea compound whose diisocyanate component comprises 4,4'- diphenylmethane diisocyanate. The rolling bearing lubricated with this grease composition has greatly improved acoustic properties because of the synergism of the lithium soap and the urea compound, and also has an improved fretting wear resistance by the action of the urea compound. |
