PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize skew compensation causing no damage such as peeling in a sheet in a short time. SOLUTION: The damage of a tip of the sheet is eliminated by rotating and stopping a pair of resist rollers and rotating them reversely based on tip position information of the sheet 22 detected by a sensor 20, and a conveyance distance necessary after the tip of the sheet reaches the resist rollers is made the minimum based on information of a skew detection sensor 23 to shorten a resist process.
