PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device having a multibeam scanning optical system free from positional deviation by correcting deviation in the main scanning direction from a specified light emitting source to respective light emitting sources. SOLUTION: This image forming device has a laser diode array where a plurality of light emitting sources are arranged obliquely to the main scanning direction, a synchronous detection means performing synchronous detection in the main scanning direction by detecting emitted light from one light emitting source set previously, a means for generating image data for every light emitting source, and a means for forming an image on the surface of a photoreceptor by performing scanning with a laser beam from the light emitting source by means of a rotary polygon mirror. The device is equipped with a FIFO memory provided for every image data, a PLL circuit for generating clocks being the integral multiple of pixel clocks, a frequency divider for generating a plurality of clocks having different phases and the same frequency by frequency-dividing the pixel clock, a selection means for optionally selecting a plurality of frequency-divided clocks, and a driving means for driving the laser diode light emitting source by setting a plurality of frequency-divided clocks as the pixel clock.
