PURPOSE: A digital data conversion method is provided to improve the code rate and the DC compression capacity by modulating the digital data by adding merging bits per block units defined by binding several input data. CONSTITUTION: A digital data conversion method includes the steps of binding input digital data by a block unit of a predetermined plurality of bites, modulation-encoding the respective bites of the input data blocks on the basis of a code conversion table, and assigning merging bits per the block unit for the input data in the modulation-encoded block units.
