PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing apparatus equipped with a printing plate fixing device capable of preventing a plate slippage of a printing plate. SOLUTION: A sucking groove 50 for fixing the printing plate by suction is formed in the surface of a plate cylinder 10, and a sucking hole 51 for sucking air through the inside of the plate cylinder 10 pierces the sucking groove 50. The sucking hole 51 is connected by piping to a vacuum pump not shown in Fig., through the rotating shaft of the plate cylinder 10. The sucking groove 50 is so disposed that the peripheral part of the printing plate having no image area is vacuum-sucked between the fore end part A of the printing plate fixed by a fore end side gripping means fixing the printing plate mechanically and the rear end part B of the plate fixed by a rear end side gripping means. Accordingly, no effect is exerted on a printed image even when a plate of a relatively soft resin such as a polyester is used. Besides, the sucking groove 50 produces an effect of preventing the plate slippage by sucking only the opposite lateral side parts partially at least between the fore end and the rear end of the printing plate. Since the fore end and the rear end of the printing plate are fixed mechanically and also the intermediate part is fixed by suction in this invention, the plate slippage due to elongation of the printing plate or others can be prevented. |
