PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce disposal load of waste liquid containing radioactive materials and to facilitate the waste liquid disposal by removing radioactive materials from the waste liquid containing various radioactive materials. SOLUTION: The radioactive materials include radioactive strontium, radioactive barium, radioactive yttrium, radioactive rhenium, radioactive technetium, radioactive iodine, and radium. To remove such radioactive materials from the waste liquid containing the radioactive materials and compounds thereof, the hydrogen ion concentration of the waste liquid is adjusted, and a treatment chemical consisting of carbonic ions and an activated bromine compound is injected stepwise to form a radioactive material insoluble in water. This radioactive material is adsorbed by a solid adsorbent in the waste liquid, and the solid adsorbent with the radioactive material adsorbed thereto is precipitated and separated, or the waste liquid is passed through a filter to trap and remove the radioactive material from the waste liquid.
