PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame-retardant resin composition which is possible to obtain an adhesive tape showing the same flame retardance, mechanical strengths, and flexibility as a conventional adhesive tape made of PVC, and causing no generation of an injurious material upon combustion thereof. SOLUTION: The flame-retardant resin composition for an adhesive tape base material comprises compounding per 100 pts.wt. of a base polymer containing >=50 wt.% of a polymer alloy of a polypropylene and an ethylene- propylene rubber without containing a halogen element, 80-150 pts.wt. of a metallic hydroxide as a flame retardant, and 1-15 pts.wt. of at least one of a flame-retardant auxiliary, the tape base material having >=10.3 MPa of tensile strength, >=60% of an elongation, and <=50% of a heat deformation degree. The adhesive tape comprises using the tape base material comprising the flame- retardant resin composition.
