1,256,000. Reforming catalysts. UNIVERSAL OIL PRODUCTS CO. 11 April, 1969 [24 April, 1968], No. 18721/69. Heading B1E. [Also in Division C5] A process for preparing a hydrocarbon conversion catalyst having a hydrogenationdehydrogenation function coupled with a cracking function comprises compositing with a dry Al 2 O 3 support a Pt component, a halogen component and a Re component in amounts which impart to the final catalyst 0.1-1.5% halogen, 0.05-1% Pt and 0.05-1.0% Re, and thereafter drying and calcining the resultant catalyst. Additionally the Al 2 O 3 may contain minor proportions of SiO 2 , ZrO 2 or MgO. Preferred supports have an apparant bulk density of 0.30-0.70 gms./cc., average pore diameter 20-300Š, pore volume of 0.10-1.0 ml./gms. and surface area of 100-500 m<SP>2</SP>/gm. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,151,639. |
