PURPOSE: A TFT(Thin Film Transistor) substrate, a method for fabricating the same, and a liquid crystal display are provided to improve the aperture ratio by resolving the area expansion of a shield film pattern due to the alignment margin for joining the TFT substrate with a color filter substrate by the multi-layer pattern including the opaque metal layer serving as the light shield film pattern. CONSTITUTION: A TFT substrate includes an insulating substrate(10), a plurality of gate lines(22) formed on the insulating substrate, a plurality of data lines(62) intersecting the gate lines for defining a plurality of pixel areas, a plurality of thin film transistors electrically connected to the gate lines and the data lines and formed in the pixel areas respectively, a plurality of pixel electrodes(82) electrically connected to the thin film transistors and formed in the pixel areas respectively, and a multi-layer pattern(100) covered between the pixel areas and including an opaque material layer(98).
