PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent transfer slippage which is caused by displacement (meandering or deflection) in the breadthwise direction of an intermediate transfer belt. SOLUTION: In an image forming device which has a constitution to temporarily transfer a toner image formed on a photosensitive drum onto the intermediate transfer belt, a member to be detected is provided around one end of the intermediate transfer belt, and an optical detection means is provided so as to face a part of the rotation locus of the member to be detected, and the extent of displacement (meandering or deflection) in the breadthwise direction of the intermediate transfer belt is detected through the member to be detected, and a control means is provided to perform such control that the image write start position to the photosensitive drum may be changed in accordance with this displacement extent detection information. |
