PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small optical module which accurately adjust and align a large number of small optical components and operates stably to external force and mechanical vibration, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: A small optical module can be manufactured because both side surfaces of a collimator lens 2 and a polarized wave compensating filter 5 are fixed to the opposing side surfaces of a rectangular frame 4. Moreover, the micro inching of an optical component can easily be carried out, and a large number of small optical components can highly accurately be aligned and then assembled because two open surfaces are provided on the rectangular frame 4. The open surfaces of the rectangular frame 4 is provided with reinforcing materials 6, thereby the shape of the module can be maintained against the external force. A grating 3 is fixed to the reinforcing material 6, adjusted and aligned, and then fixed to the rectangular frame 4. |
