PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently reducing an organic compound in a short time and ready operation under mild conditions in order to make a harmful chlorine compound, e.g. PCB harmless. SOLUTION: This invention relates to reductive dehalogenation reaction of organohalogen compounds, synthesis of amines by reduction of imines, reduction or reductive coupling reaction of carbonyls and diazo coupling reaction of nitro compounds. Particularly, the method is effective technique in order to make harmful chlorine compounds typified by PCB harmless and the method is characterized by adding metal calcium to a mixed solution of an organic compound with alcohols and mixing these components. |
