PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent drainage from a pumping device that forcibly discharges various kinds of drainage discharged from water supply and drainage facilities to the outside from overflowing due to the breakdown, etc., of a pump. SOLUTION: The force-feeding device is provided with a plurality of storage tanks 1A and 1B in which the drainage is once stored and which are made to communicate with each other through a communicative pipeline 6. In the tanks 1A and 1B, force-feeding sections 2 and 3 are respectively set up. The pumps 20 and 30 of the sections 2 and 3 are driven when the water levels in the tanks 1A and 1B detected by means of water level sensors 4A and 4B become equal to or higher than a water level L2 and stopped when the water levels become equal to or lower than another water level L1. When one 20 or 30 of the pumps 20 and 30 gets out of order or drainage flows in one 1A or 1B of the tanks 1A and 1B in excess of the force-feed ability of the pump 20 or 30 of the tank 1A or 1B, the drainage flows in the other tank 1B or 1A from the tank 1A or 1B through the pipeline 6 and is forcibly discharged to the outside by means of the force-feeding section 3 or 2 set up in the tank 1B or 1A. Therefore, even when one of the pumps 20 and 30 gets out of order, the overflowing of the drainage can be avoided.
