PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to further reduce electric power consumption, concretely, to achieve further power saving by reducing power consumption during a standby time in the state before being shifted to the power-saving mode. SOLUTION: This is an electric device provided with a switching power source device 80dc comprising a plurality of digital control switching power source circuits PC1-PC9 for outputting DC voltages, and a DSP 85 for controlling the generation of these individual DC voltages; a plurality of electric loads to be supplied with the DC voltages of the respective power source circuits PC1-PC9; and a device operation controller 60 which is supplied with an operation voltage from at least one PC1 of the power source circuits and starts the device operation (image forming) by sequentially driving the electric loads in response to an external input, and is the electric device wherein the controller 60 instructs the DSP 85 to generate/stop the DC voltages of the power source circuits PC2-PC9 other than PC1 and the DSP 85 responses the instruction and controls to generate/stop the DC voltages of the power source circuits PC2-PC9. A color copying machine is a typical example. |
