PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid such a phenomenon that the temperature of a base abruptly rises in a moment when introducing feedback control into a heater. SOLUTION: In the method of heating a gas sensor, the heater is controlled during a period T1 from the heating starting time point t0 of the heater to the time point when the resistance value of a heating part of the heater becomes a reference value or more while switching the increasing rate in multi-stages. Thus, the temperature of the heating part of the heater is gradually raised under the switching control of the increasing rate in the multi-stages, and the resistance value is raised in response to the temperature. The method further comprises the step of feedback controlling the heater with the reference value as a target value on a time point t1 when the resistance of the heating part of the heater once becomes the reference value or more and over its following a period T2. |
