PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of purifying 133a(1,1,1-trifluoro-2-chloroethane) product mixture including olefinic impurities. SOLUTION: A diene, for example, isoprene or 1,3-pentadiene is brought into contact with the 133a(1,1,1-trifluoro-2-chloroethane) product mixture that includes olefinic impurities under the sufficient conditions to convert the olefinic impurities to cyclohexenes.
