PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coping device capable of preventing infiltration of rainwater without particularly requiring a complicated-shaped draining material, and capable of reducing a cost. SOLUTION: This coping device K is arranged on the upper end of a handrail wall 1, and communicates an outdoor side ventilating part 2 of the handrail wall 1 with a handrail wall inside ventilating part 3, and is characterized by being composed of a rainwater blowing-in preventive plate 5 installed on the handrail wall upper end, a draining plate 7 forming a ventilating passage 6 between the plate and this rainwater blowing-in preventive plate 5, and having a draining part 7a on the outdoor side, and support hardware 8 arranged between these rainwater blowing-in preventive plate 5 and draining plate 7, and securing the ventilating passage 6 between these plates.
