<p>The process involves electrolysing at constant current 19-nor-DELTA 1,3,5(10)-steroids which contain as reducible grps. isolated double or triple bonds and/or conjugated carbon-carbon double bonds, in the presence of an electroconductive salt in a solvent of formula: NR1R2R3, where R1, R2 and R3 are H, alkyl or aryl, and opt. in the presence of a further solvent. The products are intermediates for steroid pharmaceuticals. The electronconductive salt may be an alkali(ne earth) metal salt, or anium (ammonium phosphonium, oxonium or sulphonium) complex salt, suitable anions are halides, tetrafluoroborates, sulphates, perchlorates, arylsulphonates and alkylsulphonates.</p> |
