PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for an aldol condensation reaction, which is capable of selectively manufacturing and aldol derivatives. SOLUTION: The catalyst for aldol condensation reaction contains a compound having a composition expressed by general formula (1): Mg<2+> 1-x Al<3+> y (OH<-> )2 A<n-> x/n .mH2 O (in the formula, A<n-> represents n-valent anion (where, other anion coexists in the case CO3 <2-> is present), (n) represents integers of 1-3, (x) represents 0.05-0.5 and (m) represents 1-10). |
