PURPOSE:To always obtain a recording image of stable and uniform printing quality by reducing the change of recording density or printing contamination generated by the deterioration of an intermediate transfer medium by controlling the currunt supply energy to a thermal head or the transfer conditions to recording paper in matching relation to the deterioration state of the intermediate transfer medium. CONSTITUTION:A recording apparatus is constituted of an intermediate transfer medium 1, a heater heating the intermediate transfer medium to hold the temp. thereof, a thermal head 2 forming an ink image 3A on the surface of the intermediate transfer medium 1 by supplying a current corresponding to a desired recording pattern, an ink sheet 3, a press roller 8 pressing the recording paper 7 to the intermediate transfer medium 1 to transfer the ink image 3A on the surface of the intermediate transfer medium 1 to the recording paper 7 and a surface state detection sensor 10 detecting the surface state of the intermediate transfer medium 1. The current supply energy to the thermal head 2 and the temp. of the intermediate transfer medium 1 are controlled corresponding to the detection value of the surface state detection sensor 10. |
