PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pitching machine having a three-dimensional ball receiving part for effective pitching practice impossible in a conventional pitching machine wherein a strike zone is simply displayed two-dimensionally and a pitcher cannot hardly aim at a target because of a non-three dimensional ball receiving part in the position aimed by the pitcher and cannot practice pitching satisfactorily or effectively because of lack of reality. SOLUTION: This pitching machine is provided with a starting switch, the ball receiving part emitting a signal when it is hit by a flying ball, a vertical/ horizontal shifting device capable of shifting and arranging the ball receiving part in both of the vertical and horizontal directions, an operation part capable of vertically and horizontally moving the vertical/horizontal shifting device, a ball catching sound generator generating a catching sound according to the signal from the ball receiving part, a display part for displaying the number of strikes counted when the flying ball hits the ball receiving part positioned inside a predetermined area and the number of balls.
