PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a strong force is required for lifting a main wheel onto a step in order to advance forward since the main wheel disposed near the centroid of a sitting person receives almost all of body weight when the wheelchair moves on a stepped road surface. SOLUTION: In the wheelchair, left and right side frames supporting the main wheel are connected by a connection arm, the front part of the side frame is supported by a front auxiliary wheel provided in front of the main wheel, the main wheel is supported on the front side of a swing arm pivoted to the rear part of the side frame, and a rear auxiliary wheel is supporting on the rear side. A swing arm connected to an operating member is pivoted to the side frame, a force-accumulating spring is interposed between the swing arm and the forementioned swing arm, and the rear auxiliary wheel is energized downwards by the force-accumulating spring.
