PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spool of a spinning reel, capable of easily preventing a fishline from being caught in a clearance between its fishline-winding drum and front flange at a low cost. SOLUTION: This spool 4 of the spinning reel can freely move in the longitudinal direction of a reel main body 2, wherein the spool 4 for the spinning reel is composed of the cylindrical fishline-winding drum 7a of which the outer surface is wound by the fishline, the front flange 8 which is attached to the front end of the fishline-winding drum 7, and a fishline catch-preventing member 13 which is inserted into the clearance between both the outward exposed joining surfaces of the fishline-winding drum 7 and the front flange 8.
