PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf ball having a thermosetting resin cover coating the surface of a core and a manufacturing method for it. SOLUTION: The golf ball is constructed of a core 1 consisting of one or more layers and a thermosetting resin cover 2 covering the core, and the cover is formed by jointing a first hemispherical shell-shaped cover part to a second hemispherical shell-shaped cover part via a ring-shaped joint face. In the joint face of the golf ball, a relationship represented by the expression (S1 /S0 )>1 is satisfied, wherein, S1 represents a joint area (mm<2> ) of the whole of the joint face, and S0 represents a reference joint face area (mm<2> ), in which a joint boundary line positioned on the golf ball surface, a plane passing the golf ball center, and a cover layer cross one another, in the joint face.
