PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized practical motion measuring instrument capable of measuring the operation of the body of a user to analyze his action to obtain the data thereof or the data of the motion state, energy consumption or the like of the user and displaying these data to provide them to the user himself or an observer and reduced in load from an aspect of use. SOLUTION: The acceleration in the up and down direction of a part of the body, for example, the wrist of the body and the angular velocity of rotation around the left and right axis of the wrist are measured by a motion sensor operated in predetermined timing, and at least three kinds of data of the acceleration output and angular velocity output of the sensor and the periodicity of them are used to classify the kind and intensity of the action of the human body by a discrimination means and multiplied by a predetermined coefficient by the classified action by an arithmetic means to operate energy consumption and these results are outputted.
