Drive with a spring closure for a folding door opened by the drive and closed by spring force comprises a toothed rack (7) axially moving along a rotating driven circulating ball spindle (5). The toothed rack works against the load of a spring (9) and meshes with a pinion (18) rotationally connected to the driving linkage for the folding door drive. Preferred Features: An easy-running and low-friction circulating ball spindle is used. Circulating ball linear tracks filled with balls are arranged between the spindle and the threaded nut (6) to reduce friction.
