PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a growing bed for plants and animals for appreciation and a growing method using the bed that can be readily portable or growable with markedly reduced time and labor needed. SOLUTION: The plant-growing bed 1 has the hardened body formed by binding a number of aggregate particles 2 with a binder 3 of cement mortar- solidifying agent as the skeleton. This hardened body has continuous gap spaces 4 inside. The continuous gap spaces 4 are filled with dormant or hibernating plant seeds 5 and plant-growing aids 6 aiding the growth of the plant, the plant- growing bed 1 is tightly sealed in the case 7 and desiccant 8 is arranged in the case 7. When the plant-growing bed 1 is taken out of the case 7 and watered, the seeds 5 germinate, absorb the fertilizer in the plant-growing aids 6 and grow up to plants for appreciation.
