PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly and surely detect a tool holder 4 seated in a regular state. SOLUTION: A detecting hole 21 opened to face a seated surface 6a of a flange part 6 of the tool holder 4 installed on an installation hole 5 in a main spindle 1 that is rotation-driven is provided in a tip surface 1a of the main spindle 1. Between an outer circumferential surface of the main spindle 1 and a rotation guide surface of a cover body 10 at a housing main body 2, a detection air pocket part 11 communicated with the detection hole 21, and a first supply air pocket part 12 and a second supply air pocket part 13 communicated with each other having the detection air pocket part 11 between them in the axial direction of the main spindle 1 are formed. To the two supply air pocket parts 12 and 13, pressure air is supplied from a compression air supply source 16, and the detection air pocket part 11 is communicated with a pressure sensor 21 through an air passage 17.
