PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing apparatus which can enhance washing efficiency by carrying screen residues and/or dirty sand of the bottom of the treating vessel on a circulating cleaning route without making them stagnate. SOLUTION: A treating vessel 2, which is the device main body, is provided with a means for introducing into the tank sewage 24 which includes the screen residues and and/or the dirty sand, a means to eject the sewage in the tank, a washing water feeding means, and a means to eject the cleaned sand and mud. In the treatment vessel, a vertically extending contact flow-up path 25 is formed by an ascending force generating means of air and/or water, in which path substances introduced into the vessel float up with a plurality of separation promoting means 38. The ascending flow in the contact flow-up path is returned into the lower end of the contact flow up path with the separation promoting means 38 to form a settling down path 37, which forms a circulating path together with the contact flow-up path while floating up matter separated from the introduced sewage is taken out to the outside of the vessel, the sand and mud having separated floating up substances removed are cleaned and discharged to the outside. |
