PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium secondary battery for which a negative electrode a having excellent battery properties high energy, density high discharging capacity, and long charging and discharging cycle life is employed. SOLUTION: A battery of the present invention is a lithium secondary composed of negative electrode 6 consisting of negative active material holding body, a conductive material, and a binding material, a position electrode 2 mainly consisting of a positive active material, and a lithium ion conductive electrolytic material 3. The negative active material holding body is an amorphous lithium-containing transition metal nitride having a composition formula Li1+x My N (wherein M represents an element belonging to transition metals; x is within a range from -0.2 to 2.0; and y is within a range from 0.1-0.5) and the binder is either one of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), polychlorotrifluoroethylene-(PCTFE), and tetrafluoroethylene-ethylene copolymer (ETFE), and the conductive material is graphite. |
