PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an instrument for inspecting gas leakage with which the leakage of sealed inert gas can be inspected during continuous casting. SOLUTION: This instrument is the one, with which the leakage of the inert gas sealed in a supplying nozzle 4 for introducing molten metal W from a ladle 1 to a tundish 2 is inspected in the continuous casting. Then, the flowing quantity of the molten metal W from the ladle 1 is changed and also, the pressure of the sealed inert gas is detected at this time, and it is determined whether the gas leakage occurs or not based on this detected value.
