PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool holder for cutting insert used in machining a chip removing machine. SOLUTION: This tool holder comprises a head (2, 2') and side faces (11a, 11b), and the side edges of the cutting insert (26) are allowed to abut on the side faces (11a, 11b) thereof when the cutting insert (26) is installed in the tool holder. One (11a) of the side faces is flexible, and the tool holder comprises members (27, 28) for receiving a tightening member (29) for the cutting insert (26) or a member for tightening the cutting insert. The features of the tool holder are that two side faces (11a, 11b) are disposed on a plate type member (9) detachably installed on the head (2, 2'). |
