FILTER MEDIA AND AIR FILTER USING THE FILTER MEDIA

PURPOSE: A filter media and air filter using the filter media is provided, which is made of thermoplastic resin of polyester, so that the fiber can be made simply by mold, and can be recycled by one treatment. CONSTITUTION: In an air filter comprising a filter media(2) for filtrating air introduced into engine and a frame that is integrated at the boundary of the filter media for supporting it, the air filter is characterized in that the filter media and the frame are integrated into one structure by molding. The filter media comprises a compact layer(4) comprising 30 vol.% of sheath core polyester fiber, 30 vol.% of polyester fiber and 10 to 70 vol.% of conjugate polyester fiber; a bulky layer(6) comprising 10 to 70 vol.% of sheath core polyester fiber, 30 vol.% of polyester fiber.
