PURPOSE: A small size power source device circuit is provided to operate computer peripherals without the PC power source. CONSTITUTION: The circuit is an add-on device using DC 12V power source adapter. The yellow cable(1) is for DC 12V voltage. The red cable is for DC 5V voltage. The black cables(2, 3) are GND. There needs a circuit, which generates 5V from 12V output using the voltage regulator like 3-Terminal voltage regulator or a simple-switcher step-down voltage regulator. LM7805 can be used as a 3-terminal voltage regulator. To use LM7805 the heat-proof board must be attached to get it cooler. LM2575 and LM2576 can be used as a simple-switcher step-down voltage regulator.
