<p>Container are blow moulded from a continuous length of tube formed from a solid crystalline mono-alpha-olefin polymer of =6C, by passing the tube continuously through a heater to bring it to just below its crystalline m.pt., clamping two mould halves over it, orienting it by moving the mould away from the heater at a greater speed than that of the tube passing through it, expanding the tube to fill the mould, opening the mould to release the container which is then joined to another container by a narrow neck of material, natural contraction causing enough tension to remove the container from the mould, passing the string of containers along a conveyor and separating them by ultrasonic cutting. A prefd. material for the containers, pref. bottles, is polypropylene.</p> |
