EXPANSION DEVICE

PURPOSE: An expansion device is provided to control flow amount of refrigerant bidirectionally and capacity over relatively wide range. CONSTITUTION: An expansion device is installed on a refrigerant circulation pipe between an indoor heat exchanger and an outdoor heat exchanger of a heating/cooling air-conditioning system for decompression, controlling flow amount and pressure balance of refrigerant circulating in a refrigerating cycle and comprises a short pipe(11) with linear type orifice hole(13) for controlling bidirectional flow of refrigerant flowing between the indoor heat exchanger and the outdoor heat exchanger; bypass holes(14,14') penetrating fixed positions on both sides of the short pipe perpendicularly to the orifice hole for controlling flow amount of the refrigerant flowing in the orifice hole; and conical guiding parts(15,15') placed on both sides of the orifice hole and formed to taper along flowing direction of the refrigerant to stably guide flow of the refrigerant to the orifice hole.
