<p>A mould for the direct injection moulding of a sole (2) of plastics material onto a footwear upper (3) is described and comprises a first mould portion (5) extending around the upper (3) along the edge of the sole (2) and defining, with the upper, a mould cavity (7) for the injection of the plastics material. The mould portion (5) comprises a rim (8) which can contact the upper (3) to close the mould cavity, at least a portion of the contact rim (8) being made of an at least partially resilient material. A method of manufacturing the above-mentioned mould is also described.</p> |
