The helmet has a chin guard (10) connected detachable via holders (8) to the helmet shell (2). When the chin guard is in locked position, it is located near the chin of a user, and its end sections (11) lock into the guard holders. The holders are located on a reinforcing structure (6) connected to the helmet shell. The structure has an overhead strap (4) extending over the top of the helmet shell, and a back head strap (5).
