Types are of formula: (where F is a water-soluble azo dye residue; R is H or opt. substd. alkyl; Z are atoms required to form a 4- to 8-membered heterocyclic ring; X is a substd. heterocyclic bridge of 1,3,5-triazine series; n is 1 or 2), are prepd. by reacting 1 mole A-(NR-X-Hal)n (where A is a gp. convertible to an azo dye by azo coupling; Hal is Cl or Br) with n moles cpd. pref. excess N-aminopyrrolidine, under mild conditions, esp. 0-30 degrees C and pH 6-10, followed by azo couling.
