The invention relates to a method and device for producing and applying thin layers, particularly membranes consisting of flowable substances, to surfaces. According to the invention, a specific quantity of substance is dosed out of a store and onto a support. A membrane is produced from this dosed quantity, is positioned above the surface to be coated, and is brought into contact with the surface to be coated while permitting it to flow thereon. The aim of the invention is to improve a method and device of the aforementioned type whereby making it feasible to economically produce solid and flowable surfaces of planar or curved bodies with the least amount of effort while simultaneously increasing the reproducibility of the coating process. To this end, the membrane is stretched inside an elastic support, particularly a tension frame, whose size and shape remain unchanged or can vary, is removed therefrom while flowing, and the flowing is interrupted by mechanical and/or electrostatic and/or pneumatic means. |
