The chassis assembled from screwed together or riveted together metal sheets (12,13) has one sheet with a deformation (15) which form fits or force fits in an opening in the other sheet. The force fitting is consequence of a preloading acting perpendicularly to the parallel plane, while the connected sheets are under a bending load along the line between the engagement area (22) and screw or rivet connection (20). Two spaced apart engagement areas may be provided with the screw or rivet connection on the connecting line between them.
