PURPOSE: An ASIC(Application Specific Integrated Circuit) emulator control system and method is provided to embed various kinds of PLDs(Programmable Logic Devices) at one ASIC emulator, and to make IO functions various. CONSTITUTION: The system comprises a touch pad(100), an external interface(200), a system drive PLD(300), a memory(400), a program download device(500), a system control PLD(600), and a graphic LCD(Liquid Crystal Display)(700). The program download device(500) includes a control program detector, a control program download module, and a control program distributor. The touch pad(100) outputs a drive signal by an operation of a user. The external interface(200) communicates a drive signal with external devices by using a parallel port(210), a serial port(220), a video port(230), a USB(Universal Serial Bus)(240), and an external extension port(250). The system drive PLD(300) receives a drive signal, a control signal and image data, and drives a previously set program. The memory(400) outputs the stored image data to the system drive PLD(300). The program download device(500) downloads desired control programs from the external device(800). The system control PLD(600) downloads the desired control program from the program download device(500), receives the drive signal from the system drive PLD(300), and outputs a corresponding control signal. The graphic LCD(700) receives the program drive data from the system drive PLD(300), executes a corresponding function, and displays the execution data. The control program detector of the program download device(500) detects and outputs control program data to the control program download module for enabling the control program download module to download the control program from the system control PLD(600).
