METHOD FOR APPLYING A PHOSPHATE COATING AND USE OF METAL PARTS COATED IN THIS MANNER

The invention relates to a method for applying a phosphate coating to metall ic surfaces by wetting said surfaces with an aqueous acidic phosphatizing solution. Said method is characterized in that the phosphatizing solution contains: from 0.2 up to less than 10 g/l zinc ions, 0.5 to 25 g/l manganese ions and 2 to 300 g/l phosphate ions, calculated as P2O5. In said method, no copper or nickel is added to the phosphatizing solution. The metal parts tha t have been pre-phosphatized in this manner are then shaped, bonded to other metal parts, welded to other metal parts and/or phosphatized again and optionally are then coated with a coating containing at least one polymer, o r with at least one paint layer.
