1,194,103. Tool holder for a hammer drill. HILTI A.G. 4 July, 1968 [24 July, 1967], No. 31850/68. Heading B4C. A tool holder for a hammer drill comprises an actuating member displacement of which serves to establish a positive locking of a tool in a socket of the holder against rotation relative to the socket and axial withdrawal from the socket by engagement with the tool of one or more locking elements of cylindrical form carried by the socket. As illustrated the tool holder comprises a collar 7 having an internal cam surface which, when in a locking position, urges cylindrical locking elements 6 inwardly with respect to a bore 3 which receives a tool shank so that, when a tool shank is located in the bore, the elements enter recesses 9 therein. The collar is locked in the locking position by a spring urged ball 10 which engages a detent in the collar. A similar detent engageable by the ball may be provided in a position corresponding to the unlocked position of the collar. |
