<p>An expansion chamber for a compressed air engine (2, 2a) is characterised in comprising two distinct volumes, one of which is connected to the compressed air inlet (24a) and the other twinned with the cylinder (16). Said volumes may be connected to each other or isolated, such that during the exhaust stroke it is possible to charge the first volume (2) with compressed air, then establish the pressure in the second volume (2a), after the end of the exhaust and whereby at least one of the volumes is equipped with a device which permits variation of the volume thereof.</p> |
