The vehicle has a towing eye (1) fitted in the bumper by means of a fixed mounting and detachable mounting (21) spaced away from the latter. The two mountings each consist of a through-opening (13,12) which are constructed in a rear and a forward wall (9,8) of the bumper's cross support (2). The fixed mounting has means of fastening comprising a steel or light metal bush (14) which has a section with a self-cutting thread. The fastening of the bush on the fixed mounting is by way of a riveted connection.
