The invention relates to a corner region between lateral and rear roof frame s on a motor vehicle with a hatchback door and method for production thereof. According to the invention, the capacity for the vehicle shell to take mechanical forces acting in the region of the roof may be improved, whereby the corner region is formed from the shell-shaped components (7,8) of the re ar roof frame (4), a D-column (3) on the motor vehicle and a hollow profile (6) , blow moulded by means of a high internal pressure. The components of the hollow profile are permanently connected to each other and the hollow profil e is embodied as a branching piece (6), with a first open end (16) connected t o the D-column, a closed neck extension (17), aligned with the first open end, connected to the shell components of the lateral roof frame (5) and a second open end (18), leading off at an angle from the longitudinal section of the hollow profile, stretching from the first open end (16) over the neck extension (17) and connected to the components (7,8) of the rear roof frame. |
