A NON-CIRCLE CROSS SECTION FIBER WITH EXCELLENT ABSORPTION AND DRY PROPERTIES FOR SWEAT

The present invention relates to a non-circle cross section fiber with excellent absorption and dry properties for sweat, characteized in that: the fiber consists of thermoplastic monofilaments, the cross section of the monofilament being six spherical protuberances of different sizes formed symetrically in a dumbbell shape of Fig. 1, and satisfies the condition of the following general formula (I). The non-circle cross section fiber has protuberances serving as a moisture migration passage (capillary phenomenon) and therefore rapidly migrates sweat from a body to the outside. In addition, the non-circle cross section fiber has a large surface area and therefore rapidly evaporates sweat in the air. Furthermore, the non-circle cross section fiber has a samll contact area with the body of a wearer and therefore affords an excellent pleasant wear feeling. The non-circle cross section fiber is mainly used as a yarn for clothes such as jackets.
