A governor device comprises two rotatably mounted governor weights. An output channel member has inclined slots engaging pins in one face of the weights so that the member is displaced axially when the weights are displaced radially. An output tube is coupled to the weights, for rotation therewith, through abutment members engaging inclined slots in the opposite face of the weights so that the rotational position of the tube is advanced when the weights move radially outwards.
